Shafali Verma made her international debut at the age of 15 in a T20I against South Africa in 2019, becoming the youngest to play T20I cricket for India. By 2021, she became the youngest Indian cricketer—male or female—to represent the nation in all three formats. In her Test debut, she scored an entertaining 96 (152) in her maiden innings, followed by another 50+ score in the second innings.

Shafali debuted in the red-ball format against England on June 16-19, 2021, where she scored 96 runs. Before today, her highest individual score was 96, with three half-centuries in her four-match Test career. Today, she not only registered her maiden Test hundred but also her first century across all formats, surpassing her highest scores of 71* in ODIs and 73 in T20Is. On June 28, 2024, she scored her maiden hundred off 113 balls, with 15 boundaries and 2 maximums.
