On November 3, three matches were played among six teams of Elite Group D in Round 5 of senior women’s one day tournament, a domestic competition in India.
Gujarat vs Vidarbha – senior women’s one day trophy 2021-22
Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh locked horns against each other at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vizag. Batting first, Gujarat posted 171-6 in 50 overs, riding on stellar half century from their opening bat Simran Patel (63 runs off 96 balls). In reply, Vidarbha scored 13-0 in 3.2 overs, before the match was abandoned. With the ball, Vidarbha’s captain Komal Zanzad was the pick of the bowlers as she scalped 2-32 in her nine overs.

Haryana vs Mizoram – senior women’s one day trophy 2021-22
Haryana and Mizoram played against each other at Dr P.V.G. Raju ACA Sports Complex in Vizianagaram. Batting first, Mizoram were bundled out for a paltry 31 in just 14.1 overs as Haryana’s Priyanka Sharma wrecked havoc with the ball picking up 5-11 in her six overs, including three maidens. Apart from Mizoram’s opening bat MP Singson (10) and captain Apurwa Bhardwaj (14), none of the other batters scored in double digits. For Haryana, the opening pair of Bhawna Ohlan (20 not out) and Reema Sisodia (13 not out) completed the formalities as the duo chased down the score in 5.2 overs, winning the match by 10 wickets.

Goa vs Madhya Pradesh – senior women’s one day trophy 2021-22
Madhya Pradesh took on Goa at Kandukuri Cricket Academy in Vizag. Batting first, Madhya Pradesh piled up 209-8 in 50 overs, thanks to a breathtaking 84 off 99 balls from their captain Pooja Vastrakar, who smashed eight boundaries and a six during her innings. In reply, Goa scored 90-4 in 33 overs, before the match ended in Madhya Pradesh’s favour by way of VJD method. Madhya Pradesh won the match by 45 runs. Goa’s opening bat Purvaja Verlekar top scored with 26 runs off 74 balls. With the ball, Madhya Pradesh’s Poonam Soni, Priti Yadav and Salonee Dangone picked up one wicket each, while Goa’s Nikita Malik, Sunanda Yetrekar, Poorva Bhaidkar and Tejashwini Duragad accounted for one dismissal apiece.
