The Pakistan women’s team led by skipper Nida Dar recently hosted the West Indies led by skipper Hayley Matthews. They had a forgettable run in the series as they only managed a solitary victory in the 4th T20I out of the eight matches they played in the white-ball series. They will now be touring England for a limited-overs series that includes a three-match T20I series followed by a three-match ODI series in their next assignment. They kickstart their tour with a T20I series on 11th May 2024 and will conclude with the ODI series on 29th May 2024.

However, before the commencement of the bilateral series, the senior Pakistan women’s team will play a warm-up match against the ECB Development XI. The ECB Development squad will be led by skipper Hollie Armitage. Chris Liddle will be the head coach of the side of that particular fixture.

“The ECB Development XI match opportunities provide us with real flexibility in an approach to selection. On this occasion, this T20 fixture is the only one of the summer against an International opposition outside of the various England Women bilateral series’ and therefore providing opportunities to a particularly strong playing XI is important as we continue to build with the bigger picture of the T20 World Cup in mind.” Richard Bedbrook, England Women’s Head of Performance Pathways speaks about facing an international opposition, providing an opportunity to develop the bench strength keeping the big picture of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in mind.
