It was a team performance that got India this much-needed victory before they kick start their T20I assignment, starting 9th July. Winning the toss after a long time, Mithali Raj decided to chase. The Indian bowlers did a decent job by restricting England to 219 Runs in 47 overs (rain-curtailed match). Deepti Sharma was the pick of the bowler who took 3 Wickets and affected 2 run-out as well. The fielding department did show a lot of progress compared to their first ODI match.

Smriti Mandhana who scored a brilliant 49 Runs, took a stunning catch near the boundary ropes and within no time started trending on Twitter. Owing to her exceptional efforts in the deep, Natalie Sciver got out scoring 49 Runs who was looking set for a big score. Throughout the match, Smriti Mandhana displayed excellent fielding skills, saving important runs for team India.

Soon after Smriti took the catch, Twitter went crazy praising the stylish left-hander of the Indian women’s cricket team.
