2nd Match: Malaysia Women vs Kuwait Women – Malaysia Women’s all-round performance puts them on top of the table

MALAYSIA WOMEN SITS ON THE TOP OF POINTS TABLE AFTER AN ALL-ROUND PERFORMANCE

Kuwait won the toss and put Malaysia Women to bat first. Siow Tzin Yee contributed for 42 runs and Mas Elysa for 33 runs in 32 balls. Mariamma Hyder and Priyada Murali took 2 and 1 wickets respectively for Kuwait Women. After 20 overs, Malaysia women had given a target of 140 runs. Chasing the total, Kuwait captain Maryam Omar and Mariamma Hyder were the top scorers with 14 and 15 runs. Kuwait innings came to an end in the 19th over after scoring 76 runs for a loss of 9 wickets as Sabreen Zaki remained unavailable to bat due to injury. Out of an innings of 76 runs, 22 runs were extras. Mas Elysa took 3 wickets for Thailand and was named as Player of the Match for her all round contribution. Maryam Omar had said that she is privileged to lead Kuwait as women cricketers have a lot of potential in Kuwait and participating in such tournaments would support them. Malaysia Captain, Winifred Anne Duraisingam expressed that her team is working really hard to make their country proud and qualify for the next level. Malaysia women sit at the first position in the points table after winning their first match by 63 runs.
