1st Match – China Women vs Thailand Women – Good show by bowlers led Thailand Women to a 6 Wicket Win

Rains led to the match being curtailed to 8 overs for each side. Thailand women won the toss and elected to field first. Zhang Mei was the only Chinese bowler to score in double digits as she scored 11 runs in 11 balls. Thailand bowlers Chanida Sutthiruang and Suleeporn Laomi took 3 wickets each. Chasing 33 runs in 8 overs, opener Nattakan Chantam was the highest scorer with 16 runs in 16 balls. Thailand women chased the target with 1 ball remaining. Wu Juan took 2 wickets, Wang Meng and Han Lili took 1 wicket each. Chanida Sutthiruang was declared Player of the Match for her contribution of 3 wickets and unbeatable 9 runs in 10 balls. China Women Skipper, Huang Zhou said that it is a good opportunity for her team to participate in an ICC tournament as cricket is new in China and they are trying hard to achieve the best they can.
