Minnu Mani to lead India A squad for 3 T20s against England A starting 29th December

Before the packed home season gets underway for the women in blue, the India A side led by skipper Minnu Mani will be involved in a three-match T20 series against England A. The series will commence on 29th November 2023 and conclude on 3rd December 2023. India A has announced their squad for their upcoming T20 series against England A. All the matches of the series will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Minnu Mani ©, Kanika Ahuja, Uma Chetry (WK), Shreyanka Patil, Gongadi Trisha, Vrinda Dinesh, Gnanananda Divya, Arushi Goel, Disha Kasat, Rashi Kanojiya, Mannat Kashyap, Anusha Bareddy, Monika Patel, Kashvee Gautam, Jintimani Kalita, and Prakashika Naik.

The Indian women’s team was last involved in the 19th edition of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. India clinched a historic gold medal by defeating Sri Lanka by 19 runs in the final as far as the T20I format is concerned. In the ODI format, they were last involved in a three-match ODI series in Bangladesh. The series was eventually shared between both sides.

The Indian women’s team is set to have an action-packed schedule for the next couple of months as they are all set to host England for a three-match T20I series, followed by a one-off Test match. The series will get underway on 6th December 2023 and conclude on 17th December 2023.

They will then host Australia, for an all-format series which includes a one-off Test match followed by a three-match ODI series and then a three-match T20I series, almost immediately after the conclusion of the one-off Test match against England. The series will commence on 21st December 2023 and conclude on 9th December 2023.

The India A side led by skipper Shweta Sehrawat became the champions of the Emerging Women’s Asia Cup by defeating Bangladesh in the final, earlier this year on 21st June 2023. Kanika Ahuja was awarded the Player of the Match for her match-winning performance (30 off 23 balls) with the bat and (2/23) with the ball in the final. The 21-year-old young sensation Shreyanka Patil was awarded the Player of the Series as she picked up 9 wickets with the ball throughout the tournament.

Shreyanka Patil:

She was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League. She later on went on to play a pivotal role in helping the Indian A side led by skipper Shweta Sehrawat to lift the Emerging Women’s Asia Cup. She was awarded the Player of the Series for her exceptional performance with the ball as she picked up 9 wickets in just a couple of innings throughout the tournament.

Gongadi Trisha:

She was a part of the World Cup winning squad for the Indian Under-19 team and played a crucial role with the bat right through the tournament. She also was a part of the Emerging Women’s Asia Cup squad.

Disha Kasat:

She was picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League, earlier this year. She is known for her power-hitting abilities with the bat.
