Players to watch out:
Sophia Dunkley
The 25-year-old opening batter, dropped from the senior national team for a series earlier this summer, replied with big runs in the One Day matches. Continuing on this momentum, she has accumulated 200 runs from 7 CE Cup outings, striking at 120.48, and earned a recall to the national team as well. She has scored 2 fifties in the previous 4 games and can be counted on for the runs.
Danielle Gregory
The 25-year-old leg-spinner, maintaining an economy rate of 5.75, has scalped 11 wickets from 8 outings this summer in the CE Cup and in her only batting outing, she remained unbeaten on 12. Danielle’s previous few bowling returns of 3/23, 1/29, 0/17, 2/21, and 2/15 highlight her consistent form. Given the form she is in, she’ll be banked upon for breakthroughs.
Freya Kemp
The 19-year-old all-rounder, featuring as a specialized batter in the 2024 CE Cup, has had a decent tournament thus far, adding 112 runs to the tally from 7 outings, striking at 120.43, and registering a highest score of 55*. Freya has only managed single-digit scores in her previous 3 outings, but she is a very capable batter, and hopefully proves her mettle finishing off the season on a high.
Charlie Dean
The 23-year-old bowling all-rounder in the CE Cup this summer has secured 5 wickets from 4 outings and added 83 runs to the tally, striking at 131.74. Charlie recently notched up her season best of 64* off 38 balls against the Northern Diamonds, and her bowling returns read 1/24, 3/24, 0/28, and 1/20. She is an outstanding talent and can be relied upon for all-round efforts.
Pitch:
The 22-yard strip at the Royal Brunswick Ground has traditionally offered batting-friendly surfaces and expect it to be no different with an average score in the 150s. However, the pitch also has enough in it for bowlers, especially spinners, who can change the course of the game.
Weather:
It’ll be a bright sunny day in Hove with the temperature expected to hover around 18°C, with moderate winds and a humidity level of 68%. With no rain on the radar, we are in for a complete game of cricket.
Fantasy playing XI:
Rhianna Southby, Sophia Dunkley, Georgia Elwiss, Paige Scholfield, Charli Knott, Georgia Adams, Danielle Gregory, Ryana Macdonald-Gay, Charlie Dean, Linsey Smith, Tilly Coleman
