Players to watch out:
Bess Heath
The 22-year-old keeper-batter, from 8 CE Cup outings this season, has accumulated 147 runs, including the highest score of 59, at a strike rate of 132.43. Bess wasn’t required much with the bat in her most recent outing and only recently registered consecutive scores of 59 and 31. Given the form she is in, she can be relied upon to continue this momentum, leading the tally.
Erin Burns
The 35-year-old all-rounder has had a quiet campaign with the bat so far, scoring only 70 runs in 7 innings, but has compensated with the ball, scalping 14 wickets from 8 bowling outings. Erin has been consistent with the ball, producing figures of 1/22, 1/25, 3/19, 2/32, and 0/24 in her previous few innings, while only managing single-digit scores. It is hoped she steps up with the bat.
Emma Lamb
The 26-year-old opening batter, averaging 37.16 and striking at 102.76, has amassed 223 runs from 8 CE Cup outings this summer and registered the highest score of 63*. Emma, in her recent outings, has managed starts, departing on scores of 10, 20, 11, 14, and 25, but has looked in good touch and hopefully has a good knock around the corner, building on these starts.
Fi Morris
The 30-year-old all-rounder in the 2024 CE Cup games thus far has added 132 runs to the tally from 8 outings and bagged 8 wickets from 7 bowling innings. Fi registered her season bests of 43 and 3/22, both in a recent game against the Central Sparks. She hasn’t been at her consistent best but has chipped in with either the bat or ball and can be counted on for the goods.
Pitch:
The center wicket at Riverside Ground is a balanced one that offers a fair contest between bat and ball. Batters enjoy the opportunity to score well with an average in the 120s, while bowlers, especially spinners, benefit from the conditions.
Weather:
Despite the cloudy overhead, the chances of rain are very slim, meaning we should have a complete game. The temperature is forecasted to hover around 17°C, with light winds and humidity at 64%.
Fantasy playing XI:
Bess Heath, Seren Smale, Emma Lamb, Erin Burns, Fi Morris, Hollie Armitage, Katherine Fraser, Sophie Ecclestone, Katie Levick, Kate Cross, Rachel Slater
