The Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Birmingham, will host Central Sparks and The Blaze in match no. 38 of the ongoing edition of the Charlotte Edwards (CE) Cup on the 19th of June 2024, at 4:00 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

Central Sparks – Eve Jones, Emily Arlott, Chloe Brewer, Hannah Baker, Ami Campbell, Georgia Davis, Bethan Ellis, Abbey Freeborn, Ria Fackrell, Katie George, Charis Pavely, Davina Perrin, Grace Potts, Courtney Webb
The Blaze – Bethan Gammon, Bethany Harmer, Georgie Boyce, Marie Kelly, Michaela Kirk, Tammy Beaumont, Kathryn Bryce, Kirstie Gordon, Heather Graham, Teresa Graves, Ella Claridge, Sarah Bryce, Cassidy McCarthy, Grace Ballinger, Josie Groves, Lucy Higham, Sarah Glenn
Players to watch out:
Davina Perrin
The 17-year-old opening batter, accumulating 179 runs from 9 outings and striking at 133.33, is having an improved CE Cup season. Davina kicked off the season with a powerful 79*, and though the runs then dried up, she has managed a timely turnaround, registering scores of 21, 1, 10, and 26 in her recent outings. She should be backed to convert these starts into substantial scores.
Grace Potts
The 21-year-old pacer, from 9 CE Cup outings this summer, has picked up 11 wickets while maintaining an economy rate of 6.41. Following 4 games where she only managed a wicket, though she was economical, in her recent couple of outings Grace has produced bowling figures of 2/18 and 2/13. She is a promising up-and-coming talent and can be relied upon to lead the attack.
Sarah Bryce
The 24-year-old keeper-batter has posted 166 runs from 9 CE Cup outings this season. Sarah was struggling for runs in the lead-up to the competition, but managed a few starts early in the competition, resulting in solid scores of 37* and 54* from her recent outings. She isn’t yet close to her best, but it is hoped that the seasoned batter finds her footing.
Heather Graham
The 27-year-old Australian all-rounder has had a bittersweet campaign thus far, struggling for runs, departing with scores of 14 and 1, while being in outstanding form with the ball, producing figures of 4/10, 2/22, 2/22, and 1/8. Heather is a seasoned campaigner and can be banked upon to continue her bowling form while stepping up her efforts with the bat, notching up a big score.
Pitch:
The Edgbaston Cricket Ground provides a batting-friendly surface with an average score in the 140s. However, the pitch also offers enough for bowlers, especially spinners, who can dominate during the middle overs.
Weather:
Birmingham, despite mostly cloudy skies with a minimal chance of rain, promises a complete game. The temperature is expected to be around 17°C, with light winds and a humidity level of 64%.
