Summary: 3rd T20I – Javeria Khan’s masterclass hands Pakistan a clean sweep over Bangladesh
Pakistan Women had a clean sweep over Bangladesh Women in the T20I series at home. Seasoned cricketer Javeria Khan played another splendid knock to rescue her team from a crunch situation. Pakistan set a target of 118 for their Bangladesh counterparts which the latter failed to achieve. In the end, Pakistan won the game by 28 runs.
Pakistan set the tone of the match by opting to bat first. But Jahanara Alam continued her brilliant form with the ball as she bowled out Ayesha Zafar in only the second ball of the innings. Captain Maroof fell next while Pakistan was 19/2. It was Javeria Khan who built the innings. The opener who was fresh with her half-century from the previous match hit another this time as well. She scored a well made 54 which came in 48 balls. Along with Omaima Sohail, she stitched a partnership till 14 overs. Sohail 31(29) was unfortunate to get run out by Rumana Ahmed. Both Rumana and Jahanara dismissed the lower batting order as Pakistan finished on 117/7.
Jahanara was once again exceptional with the ball. She had a 3-wicket haul to her name. Her figures 4-0-12-3 were the best among all Bangladesh bowlers. Rumana Ahmed too scalped 2 wickets.
Bangladesh, chasing a modest total, had a disastrous start. They lost their top 3 batters in the span of 2 runs. Nigar Sultana and Fargana Hoque were the batters who scored more than 10. While Nigar made 30 off 44, Fargana scored 27 in 26 balls. Towards the end, Panna Ghosh made 10 runs which contributed to an unsuccessful chase. Bangladesh could only make 89 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. Pakistan won the match by 28 runs. Anam Amin and Saba Nazir from Pakistan bagged 2 wickets each.
For her heroics with the bat, Javeria Khan was awarded the Player of the Match award. Jahanara Alam and Bismah Maroof were the Player of the Series from the two sides.
