Players to watch

Winifred Duraisingam:

The captain of Malaysia is a genuine all-rounder who is a right-handed opening batter and a right-arm medium-pace bowler. Though she has not contributed with the bat so far in the tournament, she has picked up two wickets in one inning. She will be the key to Malaysia’s success in the competition.

Elsa Hunter:

The right-handed middle-order batter of Malaysia has been unbeaten in the tournament so far. She registered the highest score of 29 not out in the first match against Pakistan. She is blessed with sound technique and can run well between the wickets.

Mahika Gaur: 

The left-arm speedster of UAE picked up 27/1 in four overs in her last appearance against India. She opened the bowling with captain Chaya Mughal and bowled well with the new ball. She struck in her second over, giving a good start to UAE. She was also the most economical bowler in the team.

Kavisha Egodage:

The right-handed top-order batter of UAE fought hard in the last fixture against India. She scored an unbeaten 30 off 54, including three boundaries. She came in to bat in the very first over and anchored the batting innings of UAE well. She shared a 58-run partnership with Khushi Sharma for the fourth wicket.

Pitch

This will be the ninth match of the tournament at the venue. The teams batting first have won five games, while the teams batting second have won three. The wicket looks good for batting. Despite this, the cloudy conditions may work in the favour of bowlers. A thrilling contest between bat and ball could be on the cards.

The weather is expected to be mainly cloudy, with a couple of thunderstorms in the afternoon. The highest temperature attained during the day will be 31 degrees Celsius. There will be 79 percent cloud cover and a 75 percent chance of rain. The wind will blow from the southeast.
