Thailand skipper Koranit Suwanchonrathi won the toss and opted to field first. The Thailand bowlers backed up the skipper’s decision to bowl first, dismissing the Qatar top-order cheaply. Devanandha Kavinisseri joined skipper Krisheta Sarvanakumar at the crease, and the duo led some sort of a recovery with a much-needed 29-run stand for the 4th wicket. Kewarin Saechao broke the stand by sending Devanandha Kavinisseri (10 off 20 balls) back to the pavilion in the 12th over of the innings to provide the 4th breakthrough for Thailand.

Sargam Patel joined skipper Krisheta Sarvanakumar at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 29-run partnership for the 5th wicket, which also took them past the 50-run mark. An unfortunate run-out ended Sargam’s stay (13 off 18 balls) in the 17th over of the innings. Kesinee Kaewjumphol got the big scalp of the opposition skipper, Krisheta Sarvanakumar (34 off 53 balls), the lone warrior for Qatar, in the 18th over of the innings, providing the 6th breakthrough for Thailand.
