Winning the toss, Perth opted to bowl expecting showers in the latter half of the game. Renegades had a good start as the openers Molineux and Wyatt had a partnership of 49 runs.

Molineux after reaching 20 got out cutting a ball to the point in the bowling of Graham. With her dismissal in came Tammy Beaumont. Now, it was the opening duo of England team in the middle, Wyatt, and Beaumont.

Both the players had an excellent partnership. They had a stand of 95 runs. Danielle Wyatt played an aggressive inning of 74 runs in 51 balls including 11 fours. The English batter looked in great touch, playing some extraordinary shots on all sides of the ground. She was well supported by the country mate Tammy Beaumont who scored a decent 30 in 22 balls. Both the players remained unbeaten and Renegades finished their inning at 134 for 1 in 15 overs because of rain. Wyatt remained unbeaten at 74*.

Chasing the target of 135, Scorchers got off to a good start as they were 34 for 0 in 4 overs. The rain entered again and the game was shortened again to 7 overs. Scorchers needed around 44 runs in 18 balls.

When it seemed like it was impossible for Scorchers. Lanning exploded with terrific innings, she scored a quick cameo of 44 runs including 3 huge sixes helped them to chase the target. In the 5th over, Scorchers lost two wickets in two successive deliveries in the bowling of Wareham but all these could not stop Lanning from chasing the target as Scorchers chased the target in the very last ball of the game hitting a six when they required 2 runs to win.
