Birmingham Phoenix elected to bat first but were restricted to a score of 112 and the Rockets chased down the target of 113 with three balls to spare, moving to fourth in the points table following this victory.

Highlights of the match:

1) Nat-Sciver Brunt 2/16 & 34 (Trent Rockets)

Nat Sciver-Brunt continues her consistent run in The Hundred. The Trent Rockets skipper took two wickets with the ball, dismissing Fran Wilson and then handing Amy Jones a golden duck, finished with figures of 2/16 (20 balls). Later, with the bat, Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 34 off 25 balls helped the Rockets chase down the target of 113. She smashed five boundaries in her innings and was awarded the Player of the Match for her all-round performance.

2) Sterre Kalis 47 (Birmingham Phoenix)

Sterre Kalis’ innings helped the hosts post a fighting total of 112. Birmingham Phoenix lost early wickets and were 9 for 3 at one stage, but it was Sterre Kalis and Richa Ghosh who came to the rescue, putting up a 95-run stand for the fourth wicket. Sterre Kalis smashed five boundaries and one six in her innings before being run out for a score of 47.

3) Ashleigh Gardner 2/17 & 20 (Trent Rockets)

Ashleigh Gardner played a vital role in Trent Rockets’ nail-biting win over the Birmingham Phoenix. With the ball, the off-spinner dismissed the well-settled Richa Ghosh for a score of 41, breaking the 95-run stand between Richa Ghosh and Sterre Kalis. Following Richa Ghosh’s dismissal, Emily Arlott was the next batter to fall for a golden duck and Gardner finished with figures of 2/17. With the bat, Ashleigh Gardner’s cameo of 20 off 12 balls, including two boundaries and one six, sealed the victory for Trent Rockets.
