England Women will travel to Sri Lanka in February and March 2027 for three T20 Internationals and three One-Day Internationals. The tour will be played in two stages, with the T20I series before the ICC Women’s Champions Trophy and the ODI series after the tournament. Their previous bilateral series in 2023 ended with different winners in the two formats. England and Sri Lanka also faced each other during the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, adding another result to their recent history before the next tour.

A Look Back at Previous Series Results
England hosted Sri Lanka for a bilateral series in August and September 2023. Sri Lanka won the three-match T20I series 2-1 after losing the opening match. England secured a 12-run victory under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, but Sri Lanka responded by winning the second T20I by eight wickets. They then took the third match by seven wickets to seal the series. Chamari Athapaththu scored 114 runs and took five wickets across the series, earning the Player of the Series award for her all-round performance.
England performed better in the ODI series during the same tour. They won the first match by seven wickets, while the second game ended without a result because of rain. England then completed a 2-0 series win with a convincing 161-run victory in the third ODI. The results highlighted the difference between the teams’ performances in the two formats. Sri Lanka came out on top in the T20Is, while England had the stronger ODI campaign. Their previous results offer useful context ahead of their next meeting in 2027.
The teams met again in the opening match of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. England won by 87 runs, with Danni Wyatt-Hodge scoring a century to help her side post a strong total. England’s bowlers then restricted Sri Lanka to finish the match with a win. Wyatt-Hodge’s innings was an important part of the result and added another notable performance to the teams’ recent meetings. The victory gave England another positive result against Sri Lanka before their upcoming bilateral series.
