Australia A skipper Tahlia McGrath won the toss and opted to field first. After being inserted to bat first, the India A openers Priya Punia and Shweta Sehrawat got their side off to a steady start with a 22-run opening partnership. Nicola Hancock picked up the wicket of Shweta Sehrawat to provide the first breakthrough for Australia A.
Raghvi Bist joined Priya Punia at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 26-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take them closer to the 50-run mark.
