The South African Women’s cricket team is touring India for a multi-format series. India has already clinched the three-match ODI series 3-0 in Bengaluru. The series continues with a one-off Test match, followed by three T20s, all set in Chennai. In the ongoing one-off four-day red-ball Test match at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, Shafali Verma registered her first-ever international century.
Shafali Verma made her international debut at the age of 15 in a T20I against South Africa in 2019, becoming the youngest to play T20I cricket for India. By 2021, she became the youngest Indian cricketer—male or female—to represent the nation in all three formats. In her Test debut, she scored an entertaining 96 (152) in her maiden innings, followed by another 50+ score in the second innings.
