The Women in Blue led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur is hosting South Africa led by skipper Laura Wolvaardt for an all-format series India whitewashed South Africa (3-0) in the ODI series. The caravan moves on to the one-off Test match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai from 28th June 2024 to 1st July 2024.
The 23-year-old South African all-rounder Annerie Dercksen is the only Test debutant for South Africa in the one-off Test match against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. She recently made her ODI debut against India on 16th June 2024. She has picked up one wicket so far in the ODI format. She made her international debut in a T20I against the West Indies on 25th January 2023. She has scored 12 runs and picked up a couple of wickets with the ball so far in the T20I format. She has picked up a couple of wickets in the T20I format. She has scored 12 runs in three innings with the bat in the T20I format so far. She could be a handy contributor with the bat as well as with the ball for South Africa.
She has represented South Western Districts in the CSA Women’s Division One T20 tournament. She has scored 201 runs in four innings an impressive strike rate of 140.55 and a sensational average of 100.50. Apart from her exploits with the bat, she has also picked up five wickets in three innings at a strike rate of 12, an average of 9.40, and an economy of 4.70 in three innings this year.
