Janet Mbabazi, a cricketer from Uganda, has been a regular in the national side since her debut. A pivotal figure in Uganda’s cricketing journey, Mbabazi’s impact extends beyond her performances on the field.
Mbabazi’s journey in international cricket began with Uganda’s squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament, where she made her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut against Scotland. Her skill and dedication didn’t go unnoticed, as she was appointed as the vice-captain of Uganda’s squad for the 2019 ICC Women’s Qualifier Africa tournament in Zimbabwe, showcasing her leadership qualities and commitment to the team’s success.
In a landmark moment for women’s cricket in Uganda, Mbabazi was among the first twelve female players to receive central contracts from the Uganda Cricket Association in March 2023.
