Sadia Islam’s 44 and Farjana Easmin’s Three-Fer Power Bangladesh U19 Women to Victory

In the 7th match of the Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Women’s U19 Tri-Nation T20 Series 2026/27 at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad, Bangladesh Women Under-19s delivered a clinical all-round performance to defeat Pakistan Women Under-19s by 32 runs. After Pakistan won the toss and opted to field first, Bangladesh built solid partnerships throughout their innings before their bowlers executed a disciplined defense to secure a comfortable victory.

Bangladesh’s opening pair took the field aiming to establish a strong platform, but Mahnoor Zeb made an early breakthrough for Pakistan by dismissing wicketkeeper-batter Achena Jannat Emanta for a 2-ball duck, caught by Fizza Fiaz, leaving Bangladesh at 3/1. Mymuna Naher Shornamoni then stabilized the top order alongside Nishita Akter Nishi. The duo chipped away at the target score before Shornamoni was caught by Maham Nazakat off Rozina Akram’s bowling for 13 off 24 balls (2 fours), ending their 25-run stand at 28/2.

Nishita Akter Nishi pushed the total forward with a crisp 20 off 20 balls (1 four) before being run out by Shahar Bano at 58/3. Shirina Khatun and captain Sadia Islam then took complete charge of the middle overs. Shirina compiled a patient 32 off 40 balls (3 fours) before retiring out. Sadia Islam provided the late acceleration, smashing a fiery 44 off just 28 balls with 3 boundaries and 2 sixes, before falling to Shahar Bano (caught Aqsa Habib) at 112/4. Sadia Akter added a quickfire unbeaten 14 off 7 deliveries (3 fours) alongside 13 extra runs to guide Bangladesh to 136/5 in their allotted 20.0 overs.

Among the Pakistani bowlers, Rozina Akram was the most economical with 1/20 in 4.0 overs, supported by Shahar Bano (1/27 in 4.0 overs) and Mahnoor Zeb (1/23 in 4.0 overs), while Maham Nazakat (0/34), Aqsa Habib (0/14), and Zainab Khanum (0/14) bowled useful spells.

Chasing a target of 137, Pakistan’s openers Ravail Farhan and Komal Khan started brightly. However, Farjana Easmin broke the 21-run opening stand by bowling Komal Khan for 9 off 9 balls (2 fours). Raahima Syed joined Ravail, but Tithi Das Aporna trapped Raahima lbw for 12 off 17 balls (2 fours) to break the 22-run second-wicket partnership at 43/2. The match tipped decisively in Bangladesh’s favor when Nishita Akter Nishi produced a double-wicket over.

She first had skipper Fizza Fiaz caught by Farjana Easmin for 1, and on the very next delivery, trapped Zoofishan Ayyaz lbw for a golden duck, reducing Pakistan to 48/4. Ravail Farhan, who top-scored for Pakistan with a lively 36 off 26 balls (2 fours, 2 sixes), was then run out by Farjana Easmin at 74/5. Aqsa Habib fought back with a resilient 23 off 32 balls (1 four), but Afrin Mim bowled Shahar Bano for 2, and Jannatul Ferdousi bowled Aqsa Habib at 98/7.

Player of the Match Farjana Easmin returned to clean up the tail, bowling Rozina Akram (13 off 16 balls) and having Maham Nazakat (1) caught by Achena Jannat Emanta. Pakistan ultimately finished their 20.0 overs at 104/9 (with Mahnoor Zeb on 2* and Zainab Khanum on 0*), falling 32 runs short. Farjana Easmin was the star performer with 3/19 in her 4.0 overs, well supported by Nishita Akter Nishi (2/21), Afrin Mim (1/14), Tithi Das Aporna (1/20), and Jannatul Ferdousi (1/27).
