Players to watch out:
Maitlan Brown
The 29-year-old impressed last summer with 73 runs, at an average of 36.50 and a strike rate of 162.22, from 4 outings. With the ball, she struck 7 wickets at an economy rate of 6.87, registering the best of 3/24. She continued this rich form throughout the summer, also in the recent The Hundred competition. The team will count on her for all-round goods.
Caoimhe Bray
The 17-year-old all-rounder has been one of the biggest stories, emerging talents, and she stole the spotlight with 61 runs, at a strike rate of 145.23, from 2 outings last summer. She claimed 3 wickets from 3 innings, maintaining an economy rate of 6.81. Bray didn’t get much game-time in the opening summer fixtures, 50-over games, but she will be relied upon for late runs.
Georgia Redmayne
The 32-year-old keeper-batter from 4 outings last season accumulated 82 runs, at a strike rate of 107.89, with the highest of 42. The veteran top-order batter kicked off this season with a 139 in a 50-over game and it’ll be hoped she carries this form into the T20 competition as well, coupled by her experience, guaranteeing big runs.
Charli Knott
The 23-year-old continues her rise as one of the brightest Australia talents, adding 74 runs and striking 6 wickets, from 5 games last season and recorded the best of 26 and 2/13. Knott comes into this series fresh off big runs and wickets against India A and 94 runs in the One-Day game, her first game of this season.
Pitch:
The Hurstville Oval provides a good batting deck, with an average score in the 160s. However, the wicket poses a formidable challenge for batters throughout the game due to its lively nature, especially against pacers.
Weather:
The temperature is forecast to hover around 18°C, with humidity at 70% and moderate winds. If the skies don’t clear, expect rain delays and interruptions, with scattered thundershowers on the radar.
