Rita Musamali, a talented cricketer hailing from Uganda, has left an indelible mark on the sport since her debut. Notable for her versatility and skill, Musamali has been a cornerstone of Uganda’s cricketing journey, making significant contributions both on and off the field.
Musamali’s international career began with Uganda’s squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament, where she showcased her potential by making her Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) debut against Scotland. However, it was her remarkable performance during the Kwibuka Women’s T20 Tournament in June 2019 that truly underscored her talent. Musamali’s outstanding innings of 103 not out against Mali not only demonstrated her batting prowess but also earned her the title of the leading run-scorer of the tournament, with a total of 189 runs in six matches.
In March 2023, Musamali achieved another significant milestone in her career when she was named among the first twelve female players to receive central contracts from the Uganda Cricket Association. This recognition not only highlights her importance to the development of cricket in Uganda but also signifies her potential as a player of immense value to the national team.
