The T20I series of Zimbabwe Women’s Tour of New Zealand 2026 started with the hosts outclassing Zimbabwe at Seddon Park. Captain Amelia Kerr led as New Zealand delivered a commanding all-round performance to register a massive 92-run victory in Hamilton.

Batting first, New Zealand Women put on a batting masterclass, piling up 202/1 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy to Amelia Kerr’s maiden T20I century (101* off 51) and Izzy Gaze’s 66* off 50. Zimbabwe struggled and were restricted to 110/4 in 20 overs, handing the hosts a big win and a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
With momentum firmly on their side, New Zealand will look to seal the series in the upcoming fixtures. Zimbabwe, meanwhile, will aim to rebuild their strategies and put up a stronger fight in the remaining matches.
