In the 4th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Delhi Capitals will take on Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Jemimah and her women will be confident with the team they have built from the auction, and now it’s all about finding the perfect XI for the side. The batting unit will be led by the likes of Laura Wolvaardt, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma, whereas the bowling unit is tightened up with Marizanne Kapp, Sree Charani and Sneh Rana.

Delhi has been the most consistent side in the league as they have finished as table toppers in all editions of the tournament from 2023. Jemimah will have a huge responsibility to maintain this dominance of Delhi Capitals and to seal a spot in the playoffs. As we move closer to their first fixture this season, here are the top 3 players to look out for from Delhi Capitals:
Shafali Verma
Shafali Verma, the young prodigy, has regained her touch and confidence ever since her performance in the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup, which led the Indian Women to their maiden ICC title. In her T20I career, Shafali Verma has scored 2462 runs from 94 innings, including 14 half-centuries, at a strike rate of 134. She has been consistent in the WPL, scoring 865 runs from 27 innings, including 6 fifties at a strike rate above 162. She was named the player of the series for her performance against Sri Lanka, as she scored 3 fifties from 5 innings. Delhi will bank their hopes on Shafali, as if she gets going in the WPL, she would be very difficult to stop for any side.
Laura Wolvaardt
Laura Wolvaardt, the Proteas skipper, has been in the form of her life as she was the highest run scorer in the 2025 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup and is continuing that magnificent run. In her T20I career, Laura Wolvaardt has scored 2225 runs from 79 innings, including 12 half-centuries and 2 centuries, at a strike rate of 118. She has had a decent run in the WPL so far, as she has scored 342 runs from 13 matches, including 3 half-centuries. In the bilateral series against Ireland, Laura Wolvaardt scored a fabulous century, leading her side to victory, and she was named the player of the match. She will also have a leadership role to assist Jemimah, and she will be the batter Delhi would turn to in high-intensity games.
Sneh Rana
Sneh Rana, the Indian all-rounder, has also been in the limelight after the victory of India’s maiden Women’s ICC World Cup victory. In her T20I career, Sneh Rana has picked up 26 wickets from 31 innings at an economy of 6.34. In the WPL, with the ball she has only picked 12 wickets from 16 games at an economy over 8. She will be hopeful that she can turn things around this time out in the WPL, as she will be entering this tournament with plenty of confidence in her stride, especially due to her international form. Delhi will be delighted if they could find a perfect all-rounder in Rana, if she’s able to pick a few wickets and score some quickfire cameos.
