In Match No. 18 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL), Sneh Rana etched her name in the record books with an electrifying knock against UP Warriorz. She delivered the second-quickest innings in women’s T20 cricket history (minimum 25 runs), batting at an astonishing strike rate of 433.30. Rana’s six-ball cameo left the opposition stunned, showcasing her incredible power-hitting abilities.

Only South Africa’s Chloe Tryon has achieved a higher strike rate in a T20I innings of comparable parameters, smashing her way to an incredible 457.14 against India in 2018. Another South African star, Laura Wolvaardt, also had a noteworthy innings at a strike rate of 366.66 against West Indies in 2021.
Rana’s explosive performance not only added a significant milestone to her career but also reignited conversations about her potential comeback to the Indian national team. Known for her all-round abilities, Rana’s impact with both bat and ball make her a formidable asset, and innings like these highlight her value in the shortest format of the game.
The match between UP Warriorz and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) was nothing short of a run-fest, played at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium in Lucknow. The Warriorz, batting first, posted a mammoth 225/5 on the scoreboard—a target that seemed almost impossible to chase.
RCB put up a valiant fight but fell just 12 runs short of what could have been a historic chase in the tournament. Bowling all-rounder Sneh Rana lit up the match with a blistering knock of 26 runs off just 6 balls, including 2 fours and 3 sixes, after Richa Ghosh’s 33-ball 69. At a point where RCB looked out of contention, Rana breathed life into the chase, raising hopes of a miraculous win.
With 43 runs required from the final two overs, Rana unleashed her fury on Warriorz captain Deepti Sharma, smashing 4, 6, 6, 4, 6 in dazzling fashion. However, her valiant effort ended when Sharma dismissed her off the last ball of the over, effectively sealing the game for the Warriorz.
After going unsold in the WPL 2025 auction, Rana was later signed by RCB as a replacement for the injured Shreyanka Patil. Since breaking into the playing XI, Rana has proved her worth as a key player for the team.
Her heroic performance against UP Warriorz was a testament to her abilities and resilience, reminding everyone why she belongs in the WPL. Although the Warriorz held their nerve to clinch a consolation win, Rana’s exceptional cameo added a thrilling chapter to this year’s tournament.
