Female cricketers celebrate India’s Champions Trophy win against New Zealand

As the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 took a one-day breather, cricket fans worldwide shifted their attention to the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy Final. India emerged victorious in the tournament, defeating New Zealand by four wickets, and marking a significant milestone as they claimed their second ICC trophy in just a few months, following their T20 World Cup win in June 2024.

The victory sparked widespread celebration, with several women cricketers taking to social media to congratulate the men’s team. Among those who expressed their admiration were cricket legends Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj, former cricketers like Reema Malhotra and Anjum Chopra, Indian women’s team skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, batter Jemimah Rodrigues, Sneh Rana and many others as the cricket fraternity came together to applaud the achievement.

The thrilling finale saw India successfully chase down 252, maintaining their unbeaten streak in the tournament and lifting the trophy at Dubai International Stadium.

India’s bowling icon Jhulan Goswami extended her warm congratulations to Team India on their Champions Trophy 2025 win, praising the Men in Blue for their outstanding teamwork.

Anjum Chopra erupted in joy on social media, celebrating India’s win with an enthusiastic tweet, praising the team’s hard-fought victory in the tournament and the thrilling final against New Zealand.

Former Indian Women’s Team Captain, Mithali Raj wrote on X, “They came, they played, they conquered, without losing a single game.” She congratulated the team on their impressive victory, led by Rohit Sharma.

Reema Malhotra, too, expressed her pride and gratitude, saying, “Proud moment for every Indian.”

Sneh Rana took to X to congratulate Team India, praising their all-round performance and perfection.

Star batter Jemimah Rodrigues shared a heart-warming picture of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, on Instagram, captioning it, “Love this picture! Love them both!”

Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur shared a triumphant story on Instagram, simply writing, “Champions” as she will be looking forward to replicating the success with her team at the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup later this year.
