This development comes days after she was most likely roped in as the net bowler for RCB, sparking speculations about her potential role as an injury replacement. On February 15, WPL officially confirmed Rana’s signing for INR 30 lakh.

This injury is a huge concern for RCB, as Shreyanka Patil was the purple cap holder for RCB last year and played a crucial role in their title triumph. She played 15 matches for RCB, scalping 19 wickets and her absence will be deeply felt.

Shreyanka, posted a heart-warming message on social media after missing RCB’s opener on February 14, conveying her disappointment at not being able to participate in this year’s WPL. Her post featured a picture with the caption “Heartbroken, but I will fly again.”

Wishing their injured star a speedy recovery, RCB extended a message of support on social media: “Challenges are tough, Shrey. But you’re tougher! Get well soon and come back stronger.” They recognized her efforts to regain fitness ahead of WPL 2025 and the disappointment she will feel missing out on the campaign.

Sneh Rana, an all-rounder who has previously played for Gujarat Giants in the WPL will look to fill the gap left by Patil’s injury. She has a decent record in the WPL, claiming six wickets and scoring 47 runs across 11 innings. She also led Gujarat in the inaugural WPL Season. However, has been a seasoned campaigner for India in the longer format and across formats in domestic cricket.
