Kiran Navgire, the 30-year-old right-handed batter lit up the 18th match of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 with a blistering knock of 46 off just 16 balls, smashing two fours and five towering sixes. Her explosive innings, along with Georgia Voll’s sensational unbeaten 99 and Grace Harris’ quickfire 39, powered UP Warriorz to a record-breaking total of 225/5—the highest ever in WPL history.

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Warriorz, donning vibrant ‘Rani Pink’ jerseys, delivered a powerful performance that thrilled their home crowd and made the occasion even more memorable.
Walking in to bat at 77/1 in the eighth over, Kiran Navgire wasted no time in making her presence felt. From the very first ball, she unleashed her power-hitting, carrying the momentum forward with an aggressive approach. She came agonizingly close to breaking the record for the fastest fifty in WPL history, falling just four runs short of the milestone in only 16 balls.
Navgire’s power-hitting was on full display in the 10th over when she took on Georgia Wareham, smashing back-to-back sixes with sheer brute force. The first was a monstrous hit over long-on, launched high and deep into the stands. The very next delivery, tossed up in her arc, was dispatched straight down the ground with raw power, leaving the bowler with no answers.
She then turned her attention to Renuka Singh in the 12th over, hammering 22 runs off it in a breathtaking assault. She started with a beautifully timed flick for four through backward square leg, followed by another boundary—punishing a full toss through midwicket.
A couple of runs followed as she backed away to manipulate the field but then came the real fireworks. She swatted a full-length delivery over deep square leg for a massive six and, without missing a beat, sent the very next ball soaring over deep midwicket, just clearing the fielder on the boundary.
With this brutal onslaught, UP Warriorz raced to 147/1, and Navgire stood on the verge of a breathtaking half-century, having completely dismantled Renuka’s over with her fearless strokeplay.
In the very next over, her knock came to an end just as she looked set to claim the record for the fastest fifty in WPL history. In an attempt to clear the ropes once more, she went for a big slog over the on-side but got more height than distance. Georgia Wareham had tossed it up wide outside off, tempting Navgire into the shot, but she only managed to sky it high towards long-off, where Ellyse Perry safely completed the catch.
Navgire’s innings had fans on the edge of their seats, mesmerized by her sheer power and fearless approach. Social media was flooded with praise, as viewers marveled at her ability to clear the ropes with ease and dominate the bowlers from the first ball.
Her strokeplay was described as sensational, with many calling her one of the most exciting batters to watch. Admirers celebrated her aggressive intent, hailing her as a true power-hitter who brought an electrifying energy to the game.
Many called for her immediate inclusion in the Indian team, questioning why a batter of such explosive ability hadn’t been given more opportunities at the international level. Admirers hailed her as a game-changer, with some declaring that her name deserved to be remembered among the league’s finest hitters.
