Bowling first, RCB’s bowling attack led by Renuka Singh and Georgia Wareham, delivered a stifling performance, restricting Delhi to a low total of 141, three balls short of their 20 overs. The RCB bowlers shared the spoils, with Renuka and Wareham claiming 3 wickets each, while Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht chipped in with two wickets each.

The chase was then reduced to a formality as RCB’s opening duo of Smriti Mandhana (81) and Danni Wyatt (42) shared a dominant 107 run stand, before Richa Ghosh sealed the win with a six in the 17th over, with 22 balls to spare.

Highlights from the match:

Renuka Singh – 3/23(4)

Renuka Singh was the star performer for RCB, taking 3/23 in her 4 overs and helping restrict DC to 141. Renuka made an immediate impact, sending DC opener Shafali Verma back to the dugout on the very first ball she played with a full delivery that was chipped straight to mid-off for an easy catch. She then dismissed Annabel Sutherland with a full-length delivery caught by Mandhana at extra cover. In the 18th over, she trapped Shikha Pandey with a deceptive slower ball, leading to a catch at point. Renuka’s brilliant bowling was the key to RCB’s control over the match, and she ended up winning the Player of the Match. She is currently leading the race for Purple Cap with 5 wickets.

Georgia Wareham – 3/25(4)

Georgia Wareham was exceptional with the ball, taking 3/25 in 4 overs and playing a key role in RCB’s dominant performance. She broke the important partnership between Jemimah Rodrigues and Meg Lanning as she dismissed Jemimah with a stumping as Rodrigues missed a reverse sweep, reducing DC to 60/2. This wicket was a crucial blow for DC halting their progress. Wareham’s outstanding spell continued as she stumped Sarah Bryce and caught Radha Yadav in the same over.

Smriti Mandhana – 81(47)

RCB Skipper Smriti Mandhana produced a batting masterclass as she scored 81 off 47 balls and helped RCB chase down the target of 142 with ease. Her innings, which included 10 fours and 3 sixes, established a perfect tempo, and she formed a vital 107-run partnership with Danni Wyatt. Mandhana’s attacking intent was clear from the very first over, where she hit two boundaries off Marizanne Kapp. Although she couldn’t finish the game, her knock brought up her highest WPL score and gave RCB a strong NRR boost. She was eventually dismissed for 81, caught by Arundhati Reddy off Shikha Pandey’s delivery.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge – 42(33)

Danni Wyatt-Hodge played a steady hand with her 42 runs off 33 balls, anchoring RCB’s chase. She stitched a solid 107-run partnership with Smriti Mandhana, providing a strong start to the chase. Wyatt-Hodge consistently found the boundary, hitting seven fours. Jemimah Rodrigues dropped her on 34, however, Rodrigues later redeemed herself by taking a sharp catch at sweeper cover off a slower ball from Arundhati Reddy, dismissing Wyatt-Hodge for 42. Her knock helped RCB reach 107/1, keeping them on track to chase down the target.

Jemimah Rodrigues – 34(22)

Jemimah Rodrigues was the single standout performer for Delhi Capitals, top scoring with 34 runs off 22 balls, including four fours and two sixes. Coming in at 1/1, she took the charge and formed a crucial 59-run partnership with Meg Lanning to stabilize the innings. Rodrigues played some fine shots, including a boundary off Wareham, but was stumped attempting a reverse sweep. Her innings was the backbone of DC’s batting, guiding them to 60/2 in 6.5 overs despite an early setback. Jemimah fought a lone battle for Delhi but ultimately fell short.
