The Women’s Premier League 2025 is almost upon us, and the defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru face a daunting task of retaining their crown. With competition stronger than ever, the Challengers will need to overcome these obstacles to recreate their previous success.

Fan Verdict: RCB’s Training Jersey Outshines Match Jersey in Popularity

As only a few days are left for their first match, RCB have begun their training sessions in full swing. The squad, led by skipper Smriti Mandhana, features key players like wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, speedster Renuka Singh, and promising youngsters like Kanika Ahuja and Raghvi Bisht, all actively participating in rigorous net sessions.

RCB has also revealed their official training and match day kits for the WPL 2025 season. The training kit predominantly features red with navy blue accents, keeping in line with the team’s traditional colors. The match day kit, however, consists of a striking combination of deep red and black.

However, it is RCB’s training jersey that has garnered more praise from fans than their match jersey. Below are a few comments showcasing the fans’ preference.

In the auction, RCB successfully acquired four exciting young talents – Prema Rawat, Joshitha VJ, Raghvi Bisht, and Jagravi Pawar, further bolstering their squad. They also retained their core group, including skipper Smriti Mandhana, Richa Ghosh, Asha Sobhana, Sophie Molineux, Sophie Devine and orange cup and purple cap winners, Ellyse Perry and Shreyanka Patil respectively.

However, with the unfortunate backouts of Sophie Molineux and Sophie Devine and Ellyse Perry’s availability uncertain, RCB will need to quickly find the right squad balance to maintain their competitive edge.

As they step onto the field, with their new kits, RCB will be looking forward to producing a similar story this year as well. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if the Mandhana-led side can once again conquer the WPL and solidify their place as one of the most formidable teams in the tournament.

The Challengers take on their first challenge in the season opener against the Gujarat Giants on 14th February at BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
