The WPL, like the Indian Premier League (IPL) is not only about cricket but brings India’s next biggest thing after cricket – Bollywood into the mix as well.

As we prepare for the Women’s Premier League 2025 season to get underway shortly, we take a look at a wholesome meet and greet between Delhi Capitals and Indian fast bowler Arundhati Reddy and the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, who met the Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians players ahead of the season opener in the WPL 2024 season, a year ago.

Arundhati reminisced about her unforgettable encounter with the Bollywood superstar. In a video shared by Delhi Capitals, she confessed that the experience felt surreal until he actually shook her hand, “I actually didn’t believe it until he shook my hands, I think,” she said, capturing the overwhelming excitement of meeting someone she admired from her childhood.

“Even till today, every time I have nothing to do, and I am just free, I just feel like watching something, I fall back to an SRK movie,” she shared, expressing how his films remain a constant source of comfort and happiness in her life.

Her admiration for Shahrukh Khan extends beyond just his films, his legendary dialogues have also left a profound impact on her. Citing one of her favorites, she said, “Haar kar jeetne wale ko baazigar kehte hain.”

Reddy has been a crucial member of India’s white-ball formats lately and recently delivered a career best 4/26 in the third ODI against Australia in December 2024.
