Due to Ellyse Perry’s illness, Banglore included Nadine de Klerk in their playing XI, and Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, introduced Jess Jonassen for Annabel Sutherland.

Delhi Capitals had a steady start until Sophie Devine dismissed the Delhi skipper, Meg Lanning. Shafali Verma and Alice Capsey built a crucial 82-run partnership before Banglore’s Shreyanka Patil dismissed Shafali. Despite wickets falling at intervals, Delhi Capitals posted a formidable 194 runs for 5 wickets.

Royal Challengers Bangalore began their chase strongly but lost momentum after Sophie Devine’s dismissal. Smriti Mandhana and Sabbhineni Meghana’s partnership kept Banglore in a solid position until Marizanne Kapp’s pivotal wicket of the Banglore skipper turned the tide. The team collapsed to pressure, falling short by 25 runs, ending at 169 for 9.

Maximum number of sixes in a WPL match history

There were raining boundaries and maximums in the match between Banglore and Delhi, with a total of 19 sixes recorded, marking the highest number in the Women’s Premier League.
