The Women’s T20 World cup Europe Qualifier is a qualifying event for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup which is scheduled to be held in South Africa.

The Qualifier will take place on the same dates, i.e. August 26-30 at La Manga, Spain. The qualifier will see the participation of teams from France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, Scotland, and Turkey with France and Turkey participating for the first time in an ICC event.

“The decision to move the events to Spain was taken after a period of consultation with the participating countries and relevant governments, where it was determined that it was the best possible chance for the events to take place due to Covid-19 restrictions in Scotland,” said the ICC in a statement.

COVID has also affected the U-19 men’s World Cup division 2 Qualifier in Africa. Botswana, Kenya, Mozambique, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, and Tanzania were the teams who were supposed to participate in the tournament but because of the cancellation of the qualifier, Tanzania and Rwanda have been promoted to participate in the Africa Qualifier on the basis of their good performance in the past qualifiers.
