The race to the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup has already begun with the qualifiers scheduled to take place next year. On the road to the main qualifying tournament, the regional qualifiers for Europe, Africa, America have already taken place with East Asia-Pacific seeing an unfortunate cancellation due to Covid-19. Currently underway are the Asia qualifiers taking place in the UAE. As we head towards the 11th match of the qualifiers between Bhutan and Hong Kong scheduled for Tomorrow, November 26, let’s get a preview of the match.
Bhutan who is ranked at the fifth position (last among the five teams left) is in search of a big win after suffering a huge defeat against UAE which took their net run rate to -1.301 with just one victory in their three matches. Hong Kong currently stands at the third position tied on 4 points with Nepal who has the net run-rate advantage.t

Players to watch out for:
The only consistent performer for Bhutan in this tournament has been Tshering Zangmo. She was the player of the match in the team’s first game of the qualifiers where she made an unbeaten 34 off 36 balls which included four boundaries and then went on to take a wicket giving away 12 runs in her quota of four overs. In the last match against UAE where the team struggled to build a partnership, she remained not out at 12.
Bowler Anju Gurung was the lone wicket-taker for Bhutan in their last match against UAE. She took two wickets conceding 25 runs in four overs in a match which saw a 46 runs defeat for Bhutan.
For Hong Kong, their captain Kary Chan has been contributing well as an all-rounder. Been Adjudged as the Player of the match in the team’s last match against Malaysia after finishing unbeaten on 38 runs, taking two catches and two wickets in three overs going for just nine runs in her spell.
The next player from Hong Kong to look forward to is Mariko Hill. She has been great with the bat scoring an unbeaten 42 off 38, run a ball 24 and 36 off 35 in the three matches the team has played till now, adding to a total of 102 runs.
It is expected to be a pleasant day with abundant sunshine. The minimum temperature would be 23 degrees Celsius while the maximum would be 30 degrees Celsius.
The pitch seems to be a balanced one offering equal assistance to both sides. As a result, the bowlers had to be careful of their length.
