The race to the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup has already begun with the qualifiers scheduled to take place next year. On the road to the main qualifying tournament, the regional qualifiers for Europe, Africa, America have already taken place with East Asia-Pacific seeing an unfortunate cancellation due to Covid-19. Currently underway are the Asia qualifiers taking place in the UAE. Mas Elysa has been constantly performing well for Malaysia, being the top scorer for them in the last two matches the team has played. She scored 43 off 28 with a strike rate of 153.57 against Kuwait where she took two wickets with the ball and was adjudged as the player of the match, against Hong Kong, she got 38 runs off 49 runs.
Winifred Duraisingam
The all-rounder captain, Winifred Duraisingam got Malaysia to a great start against Kuwait, scoring 44 off 40 at the strike rate of 110.00. She also bowled well in the team’s last match against Hong Kong, taking two wickets and a maiden, giving away 15 runs in her 3 overs.
Sangita Rai
After finding her way into Nepal’s playing XI for their third match of the tournament, Sangita Rai proved herself after bowling a phenomenal spell of 2.4 overs conceding just 2 runs and taking 3 wickets, leading the team from the front, and bowling out Kuwait for just 27 runs.
Sita Rana Nagar
Contributing with both the bat and the ball, Sita Rana Nagar has been a key asset for Nepal. Against Hong Kong, she scored an unbeaten 40 off 58 deliveries and also took a wicket in her 4 overs spell giving away 18 runs. This was followed by a player of the match performance against Bhutan where she scored 17 off 13 and took three wickets giving away 10 runs in four overs.
