Arundhati Reddy and Shreyanka Patil shine with the ball before batters hold their nerve in a tricky run chase to give India a much-needed victory
India led by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was up against Pakistan led by skipper Fatima Sana in the 7th match of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana won the toss and opted to bat first. Pakistan got off to a poor start as they lost the wicket of their opening batter Gull Feroza in the first over of the innings with Renuka Singh providing the first breakthrough for India.
Sidra Amin joined wicket-keeper batter Muneeba Ali at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 24-run partnership for the 2nd wicket. Deepti Sharma cleaned up Sidra Amin to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Pakistan suffered a mini collapse as they lost their next three wickets for just 27 runs. Skipper Fatima Sana joined Nida Dar at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 18-run partnership for the 6th wicket. Asha Sobhana picked up the wicket of the opposition skipper Fatima Sana to provide the 6th breakthrough for India.
Pakistan eventually ended up with a total of 105/8 in their quota of 20 overs. The 28-run 8th wicket partnership between Syeda Aroob Shah and Nida Dar played a crucial role in helping their side breach the 100-run mark. Nida Dar (28 off 34 balls), wicket-keeper batter Muneeba Ali (17 off 26 balls), Syeda Aroob Shah (14* off 17 balls), and skipper Fatima Sana (13 off 8 balls), were the top performers with the bat for Pakistan.
Arundhati Reddy (4-0-19-3), Shreyanka (4-1-12-2), and Renuka Singh (4-0-23-1), were the top performers with the ball for India. Chasing a target of 106, India lost their vice-captain Smriti Mandhana inside the powerplay with Sadia Iqbal providing the first breakthrough. Jemimah Rodrigues joined Shafali Verma at the crease and the duo stitched a much-needed 43-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to take their side past the 50-run mark.
Omaima Sohail picked up the wicket of Shafali Verma to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur joined Jemimah Rodrigues at the crease and the duo took their side closer to the target with a 19-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. Skipper Fatima Sana struck twice in two balls to delay the inevitable.

India eventually got over the line with six wickets in hand and seven balls to spare to get their World Cup campaign back on track. Shafali Verma (32 off 35 balls), skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (29 off 24 balls), and Jemimah Rodrigues (23 off 28 balls) were the top performers with the bat for India. Skipper Fatima Sana (4-0-23-2), Sadia Iqbal (4-0-23-1), and Omaima Sohail (3-0-17-1) were the top performers with the ball for Pakistan.
