Players to watch out for
Lata Mondal:
The all-rounder from Bangladesh had a good outing against Australia in the last match. She top-scored with 33 runs batting in the middle order. She batted for almost 20 overs to take Bangladesh to a respectable score.
Salma Khatun:
The veteran right arm-off spinner from Bangladesh was the pick of the bowlers in her last match against Australia. She scalped 3-23 in nine overs. She opened the bowling with Jahanara Alam and bowled well with the new ball. She got the better of Australia’s top three.
Danielle Wyatt:
The right handed opening batter of England won the player of the match for her brilliant 76 not out against Pakistan in the last game. This was her first half-century in this World Cup. With that, she helped England beat Pakistan by nine wickets.
Katherine Brunt:
The right arm medium pace bowler of England had a good outing with the ball against Pakistan. She opened the bowling and picked up 3-17 in eight overs. She bowled well with the new ball, not allowing the opposition batters to score freely of her.
Pitch
This will be the sixth match of the 2022 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup that will be played here. Out of the six matches, one was washed out. From the remaining four, team batting first has won once and the teams batting second have won three matches. The wicket is expected to be on a slower side and there could be some purchase for the bowlers. Batters could find it difficult to score freely.
