The half-century is still given utmost importance in the eyes of fans and players too. The following are the women with most fifties in their T20 careers.
1. Suzie Bates (21 fifties)
Suzie Bates is a New Zealand All-rounder and former captain of the national women cricket team. The White Ferns opener holds the record mutually for the most fifties scored in T20 history. Bates is arguably one of the best batters in the T20 and ODI formats. She has registered a mammoth 21 half-centuries in 119 matches while leading her side. Bates has played 14 years of cricket in which she has managed to score 3243 runs for the White Ferns.
2.Stafanie Taylor (21 fifties)
West Indies captain Stafanie Taylor who took over the captaincy from the famous Merissa Aguilleira. Universally known for leading her team to victory in the 2016 T20 WC and being the player of the tournament. Taylor has recorded 21 fifties for West Indies tying with Suzie Bates for most fifties scored in T20‘s. Taylor is known for her immense hitting and attacking style of batting which has won her a lot of T20 fans all over the world.
3.Mithali Raj (17 fifties)
Mithali Raj is indisputably the biggest name in Indian cricket and one of the biggest names in the world. She also ranks second for the most fifties scored in T20 history, with her 17 half-centuries in 89 matches. Raj also became the first player from India (male or female) to score 2000 runs in T20Is, establishing her dominance in all formats of the game. Mithali Raj performances have proved that she is still one of the most reliable batsmen in the world of cricket.
4. Sarah Taylor (16 fifties)
Fourthly we have Sarah Taylor, the former England wicket-keeper and opener. Sher ranks fourth for most fifties scored in T20 history. She has amassed 16 fifties in the span of 90 matches. Taylor has had an illustrious career of 14 years and has been named the ICC Women’s T20 Cricketer of the Year for the years 2012,2013 and 2018. She was known for her attacking style of batting with elegant stroke-play.
5. Sophie Devine (15 fifties)
New Zealand All-rounder Sophie Devin is ranked fifth for the most fifties in T20 cricket. Devine is known for her risky choice of not wearing a helmet while batting, for which she has got a lot of critics. Devine has scored an impressive 15 fifties in 91 matches for New Zealand, a feat which she achieved in her 15-year career. On 11 July 2015, Devine broke the record (men or women) for the fastest fifty in only 18 balls.
