Half Centuries from Bates and Patterson makes Adelaide Strikers continue their winning form defeating Heat by 8 wickets at Mackay on Saturday.
Winning the toss, Strikers opted to bowl. As usual, Beth Mooney continued her prime form as she scored another half-century in this season. She scored a brilliant 73 in just 49 balls. Initially, she got good support from Grace Harris, once the departure of Harris it was only Mooney who single-handedly took Heat to set a target of 140. With the bowl, every single bowler contributed with a couple of wickets, which made Heat to settle for a below-par score.
Chasing the target of 140, Strikers lost their key player, Devine for just 1. The in-form batter McGrath and Skipper had a good stand of 41 which laid a foundation for chase. After the departure of McGrath, it was all Bates and Patterson show where both scored unbeaten Half Centuries 53 and 57 respectively. This partnership made the chase look easy. By 19th over the duo successfully chased the target and added another two points to their tally.
