Nida Dar created history by signing with Sydney Thunder for the WBBL season 2018-19. In doing so, she became the first woman cricketer from Pakistan to sign a deal with a foreign cricket league.
The Sydney Thunder, who were the inaugural champions of Women’s Big Bash League have struck a deal with Nida Dar, an experienced all-rounder from Pakistan. Nida has been a handy player representing her country who has taken 88 Twenty20 international wickets. She has also scored 1086 runs in the shortest format of the game at a strike rate of 96.27.

Nida Dar played a crucial role in the close-fought T20I series played between South Africa and Pakistan. She scored two half-centuries which included a 37 ball 75 which was the second-fastest among women’s T20I half-centuries.
Sydney Thunder has not been able to win the league after the first season, having been knocked out in the semi-final stages of the last two seasons. Hopefully, Nida Dar can contribute to the team’s success this time.
