Bangladesh’s women cricketers continue to make their mark in the international arena, the latest being Murshida Khatun cementing her place as a rising star.
The talented batter has set a new benchmark in women’s cricket by scoring three half-centuries in just five innings of the Women’s Asia Cup history to date, surpassing the previous record held by Indian cricket legend Mithali Raj. Raj’s milestone of three half-centuries in ten innings stood as a testament to her consistency and skill, but Khatun’s feat has now raised the bar even higher, showcasing the rapid development of women’s cricket in Bangladesh.
Murshida Khatun made her ODI debut on 04 May 2018 against South Africa in Potchefstroom. Later in the same series, she made her T20I debut on 20 May 2018 in Bloemfontein. Since then, she has showcased her batting class as an opening batter and her excellent performance at the international level has impressed everyone.
