Deepti Sharma Targets Women’s Asia Cup Preparation Through The Hundred 2026 Stint with Sunrisers Leeds

Deepti Sharma is using her time with Sunrisers Leeds Women in The Hundred 2026 to prepare for the Women’s Asia Cup, which begins in Dubai on August 28. The India all-rounder is currently in good form with the ball and in the field for the champions. With the Asia Cup now approaching, Deepti wants to use her time in The Hundred well. “Right now, my focus is on The Hundred. The Women’s Asia Cup is starting from 28th August, and that is an important tournament for the Indian team,” Deepti said on JioStar. The Hundred is giving her useful match time before the Asia Cup and helping her stay sharp. Deepti wants to make every match count and use her experience in England to be ready for the tournament. She also wants to learn from each game.

Deepti is also using the competition to work on all three parts of her game. As an all-rounder, she knows the importance of being ready with the bat, ball and in the field. “Playing in The Hundred is giving me a great opportunity to work on my skills in all three departments, batting, bowling, and fielding. I am trying to make the most of this tournament so that I can go into the Asia Cup well prepared.” This can help her enter the Asia Cup with good match practice and confidence.

The Indian all-rounder also wants to give her best for Sunrisers Leeds while she remains in The Hundred. She believes her efforts for the team will help her improve as a player and also support the side in the competition. “I am giving my best for Sunrisers Leeds, and that will help me grow as a player and also benefit the team in the long run,” she added. Deepti’s role with the defending champions is therefore important for both her current team and her own preparation for India.

For Deepti, representing India is about pride as well as responsibility. She explained how much wearing the blue jersey means to her and how it reflects the work behind reaching the national team. “When you wear the blue jersey, it fills you with pride, for yourself, for your family and for your country. It’s not just a jersey; it’s the result of years of hard work and sacrifice.” Her words show why playing for India remains a special moment for her and why she values that responsibility.

Deepti also spoke about the feeling of performing when expectations are high. “When expectations are high and you are able to deliver for the nation, that feeling is special. There is a responsibility that comes with it, but it’s a responsibility we all welcome.” She understands that fans expect the team to do well, but sees that support as motivation rather than pressure. The common goal is to perform together, stay united and give supporters something to celebrate throughout the Asia Cup campaign.

“Everyone wants us to succeed as a team and bring happiness to the fans who support us. That is what drives us to keep giving our best every time we step onto the field.” With the Women’s Asia Cup beginning on August 28, Deepti will look to make the most of her remaining time in The Hundred. Her current stint is helping her work on batting, bowling and fielding and staying match-ready. She will hope to carry that preparation and confidence into India’s campaign when the Asia Cup begins in Dubai later this month.
