Pakistan fans applauded their team’s victory over Nepal, which was their first victory in the ongoing ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup, after having suffered a loss in the first match to India. Nepal fans also appreciated the effort of their team, which put up a fighting total of 109 against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Nida Dar elected to bowl first against Nepal in the sixth match of the Women’s Asia Cup. The decision to bowl first was justified by their bowlers, who provided early breakthroughs. Fatima Sana struck in the first over, with Nepal having only 4 runs on the board. Nepal built a 26-run partnership for the second wicket, but that too was broken by Sadia Iqbal. Two balls later, another wicket followed, which was a big blow for Nepal in the form of their skipper Indu Barma. Nepal’s halfway mark saw them at 65 with half their side in the dugout, but Kabita Joshi’s unbeaten 31 helped Nepal put up a respectable total of 108. Sadia Iqbal was the standout bowler for Pakistan, finishing with figures of 2 for 19.
Pakistan in reply did not face too many hurdles chasing down the total of 109. They had an opening stand of 105, with Gull Feroza scoring her maiden T20I fifty. She scored 57 off 35 balls and was awarded the Player of the Match as Pakistan registered a 9-wicket victory over Nepal.
Fans from both teams praised their teams’ efforts on the social media platform ‘X’, formerly Twitter. Pakistan’s fans celebrated the opening stand between Gull Feroza and Muneeba Ali, while Nepal fans appreciated the effort of their batting lineup.
