Watch Highlights: Pakistan dominates Nepal, Gull Feroza stars with Maiden Fifty

Sri Lanka is currently hosting the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup. The tournament started on 19th July, with the final scheduled for 28th July. The sixth match of the Asia Cup was played between Pakistan and Nepal; Pakistan decided to bowl first and eventually won the match by nine wickets, chasing down a total of 109 with absolute ease.

Highlights from the match:

Sita Rana Magar 26 (Nepal)

Sita Magar was Nepal’s second top run-scorer during their innings against Pakistan. The left-handed batter didn’t receive much support from other batters. She scored 26 runs, which included three boundaries. It was an unfortunate dismissal for Sita Rana Magar, as she got run out in the fourteenth over.

Sadia Iqbal 2/19 (PAK)

The left-arm spinner put in a spectacular performance with the ball during Pakistan’s second Asia Cup match against Nepal. Sadia had gone wicketless against India in Pakistan’s first match but was relentless against Nepal. Her first wicket was Kabita Kunwar for 13 and two balls later, she dismissed Nepal’s skipper for a duck after rattling her stumps. She finished with figures of 2 for 19 in four overs.

Kabita Joshi 31* & 1/19 (Nepal)

The Nepal all-rounder scored a crucial 31 runs lower down the order to help her side put up a fighting total. She came into bat when half of Nepal’s side was back in the dugout with 65 runs on the board and only six overs remaining. Nepal ended up scoring a total of 109. Out of the last 44 runs Nepal scored, 31 came off Kabita Joshi’s bat. She scored an unbeaten 31 off 23 balls, which included four boundaries and one six. She also took a wicket with the ball, providing the first and only breakthrough for Nepal in this game by dismissing Gull Feroza for 57.

Gull Feroza 57 (Pakistan)

The Pakistan opener scored an unbeaten 57 during Pakistan’s chase of 109 against Nepal, registering her maiden T20I fifty. Gull took the first paddle and was involved in a 100-run partnership for the first wicket with Muneeba Ali. Feroza targeted Nepal’s spinners, smashing 11 boundaries throughout her innings of 57 off 35 balls. She received Player of the Match for her stellar performance with the bat.
