Sri Lanka is currently hosting the ninth edition of the Women’s Asia Cup, played from 19th July to 28th July. In the tournament’s much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan, which was also the second of the tournament, the former registered a comfortable 9-wicket victory over Pakistan in a chase of 108.

Sidra Amin 25 (Pakistan):
Pakistan’s top-order batter was Pakistan’s top scorer during their innings. She came to bat when Pakistan lost their first wicket for a score of 9 in the second over in the form of Gull Feroza. Sidra Amin didn’t receive any support from other batters. Throughout her innings of 25 off 35 balls, she hit three boundaries. Her innings helped Pakistan put up a total of 108.
Deepti Sharma 3/20 (India):
The Indian all-rounder displayed a brilliant performance with the ball in the marquee clash against Pakistan. She grabbed three wickets, with the first being the Pakistan skipper for nine. Her second and third wickets were Tuba Hassan and Nashra Sandhu. Her second wicket was vital as she dismissed Tuba Hassan for 22, who was guiding Pakistan to a respectable total. Her spell helped India restrict Pakistan to a mere 108, finishing with figures of 3 for 20.

Syeeda Aroob Shah 2/9 (Pakistan):
Pakistan’s leg-spinner Syeeda was the standout bowler for Pakistan. Though in a losing cause, Syeeda was exceptional and provided the first breakthrough for Pakistan by dismissing Smriti Mandhana for 45. She later dismissed Shafali Verma for 40. She finished with figures of 2 for 9 in three overs.
Smriti Mandhana 45 (India):
The swaggering Indian opener scored 45 while chasing 108. She was involved in an 85-run partnership with her fellow opening partner Shafali Verma. The left-handed batter took her time initially but later went all-out against the spinners. Her innings helped India secure a 7-wicket victory. Smriti Mandhana hit nine boundaries in her innings of 45 off 31 balls and was the top scorer in India’s 7-wicket victory over Pakistan.
