Bio:

Freya Davies made her debut for Sussex in 2009 at the age of 14, showcasing her potential early on. She has been a part of three title wins for Sussex: the 2013 Women’s County Championship and the 2012 and 2015 T20 competitions. Her performances for Sussex were consistently impressive, earning her recognition and a place in the Kia Super League. Her 19 wickets in the 2019 Kia Super League set a competition record.

Despite being uncapped, in 2019, Davies was awarded a central contract by the ECB, highlighting her potential and importance to the national team. She made her international debut in a T20 match against Sri Lanka in March 2019, where she picked up 2 wickets for 28 runs. Later that year, she made her ODI debut against Pakistan. In 2020, Davies played two matches in the Australia Women’s Tri-Nation Series and was included in the England squad for the 2020 Women’s World T20 in Australia. However, she did not feature in any of the matches in the tournament.

Educated at Brighton College, the alma mater of notable cricketers like Clare Connor and Sarah Taylor, Davies went on to study law at Exeter University. She was part of the Exeter team that won the British Universities indoor title in 2015 and 2016 and were runners-up in the Women’s Universities Championship both years, losing to Loughborough in the 50-over final at Lord’s.
