Bio:

Freya Kemp has quickly become one of the most promising talents in English cricket. Kemp made her domestic debut for Sussex at an exceptionally young age and quickly impressed with her skill and composure. Her performances and promise with both bat and ball earned her a call-up to the England-A squad, where she played in a T20 and an One Dayer warm-up match against South Africa. England Head Coach Lisa Keightley then named Kemp in her 15-player IT20 squad against South Africa. She received her maiden England cap in the third and final IT20 against the Proteas, where she delivered a tidy return of 2-18 in three overs.

Kemp remained in the squad for the first-ever women’s cricket event in the Commonwealth Games, and the 17-year-old responded by leading the wicket tally for the host nation. One of the most notable highlights of Kemp’s career came during her innings against India on September 10, 2022. At just 17 years and 145 days old, she scored an unbeaten 51 runs, becoming the youngest player, male or female, to score a fifty in a T20I for England. Her strong T20 performances earned Kemp an ODI debut at Canterbury against India.

Kemp was awarded her maiden ECB central contract in November 2022. The left-arm pacer has played about 18 matches as of 2024, picking up 15 wickets across white-ball formats. She continues to develop and refine her skills, making her a key player to watch in the future of English cricket.
