In April 2018, the ICC granted Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) status to all its members. Consequently, all T20 matches played between Gibraltar and other ICC members since 1 July 2018 have been eligible for international status.
Gibraltar played their first WT20I match on 20 April 2024 during a three-match home series against Estonia, winning by 100 runs. The following day, they played two more games at Europa Sports Park, securing victories by 128 runs and 88 runs, respectively, to complete a 3-0 series sweep. In the second match of the series, captain and opening batter Amy Benatar scored the first WT20I half-century by a Gibraltar player, with an unbeaten 68 off 74 balls. This match was also notable for featuring Sally Barton as Gibraltar’s wicketkeeper, making her the oldest person to play international cricket at the age of 66 years and 334 days.
