The team played its first WT20I matches during the 2019 France Women’s T20I Quadrangular Series, held in July and August 2019 in Nantes. Their debut match was against Norway on 31 July 2019 at Parc du Grand Blottereau in Nantes. Norway batting first struggled to build a strong total, finishing with 120/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Doris Kumar was the most successful bowler for Austria, claiming 4 wickets for 14 runs. In response, Austria faced similar challenges in chasing the target and were bowled out for 104 runs in 19.3 overs. Despite some resistance from Priya Sabu, who scored 14 runs, Austria fell short of the target by 16 runs and eventually lost their maiden international match by 16 runs.
